5th Grade Talent Show Committee
This committee will help plan and execute the talent show. Activities
include designing of brochure, setting deadlines, collection of signed permission forms, lyrics and flashdrives, listening to student auditions and making cuts, coordinating dress rehearsal during school and the night of the event.
Comet Corner Committee
This committee runs the school store. Volunteers will purchase inventory (with the help of the PTO Treasurer), set up and sell merchandise to students on days agreed upon by PTO and administration.
Family Dining Nights Committee
Family Dining Nights are held throughout the year as a fundraiser, and as a means of getting to know other families and the staff at Cox Mill. These family nights need volunteers to set up event dates, coordinate events with restaurant management, and announce the events to the school.
Family Sports Nights Committee
Members of this committee help to plan and execute one or two "spirit nights" at sporting events in our community such as Charlotte Checkers or Kannapolis Intimidators. Volunteers will help set dates, communicate with venue, advertise event, sell and distribute tickets and coordinate activities at the event.
Holiday Shop Committee
Co-chairs will work with vendor & school administration to plan dates, set up Sign-Up genius schedule for volunteers, communicate dates to teachers, create preview/shopping schedule, prepare literature for distribution in communication folders, receive inventory and set up store during days before Thanksgiving, & with the help of volunteers & co-chairs run preview days (each class will come through for 10 minute previews), & shopping days (each class will visit store for 45 minutes to make purchases). This includes assisting children, training volunteers, running cash register, counting money & preparing deposit each day, evaluating inventory to place re-orders, receiving re-orders daily. This usually runs the first two weeks of December.
Volunteers will be responsible for updating the CMES Marquee with the latest news & events.
School Supply Packs Committee
This committee coordinates the purchase of supply packs for the students at our school. Duties include choosing the vendor, corresponding with vendor, advertising sale of supply packs to parents, collecting orders and distributing orders at open house.
Skate Nights Committee
Committee members are needed to assist with advertisement. We also need a few members to attend skate nights to help distribute awards and prizes. Please note that signing up for this does not require you to attend each skate night.
Spirit Wear Committee
Members of the Spirit Wear Committee will help to order and prepare these items to be sold at Open House, Kindergarten Boo- Hoo/Woo-Hoo Breakfast, Volunteer Interest Meetings, Staff Basketball Game, Kindergarten Registration Week, and Kindergarten Orientation Meeting. Orders for Spirit Wear may be placed at any time throughout the school year while supplies last. Members of this committee will help to fill these orders in a timely manner.
Staff Appreciation/Hospitality Committee
Staff Appreciation events are scheduled for each quarter. Members of this committee will assist in planning and preparing food and/or gifts for each event. Volunteers will also be asked to assist on the day of each event to set up and/or serve food. One of the events is a more organized luncheon.
